Have you had a chance to enjoy one of the organic hard ciders of the Okanagan-Similkameen yet?
It’s quite hard to find a beverage more refreshing and satisfying on a hot Okanagan afternoon than a frosty glass filled with cider, brewed right from the tree fruits so symbolic of our region.
In an area so rich with trees fruits, such as apples, cherries, nectarines, peaches, apricots, plums and pears, organic hard ciders and cider making just makes sense!
Alcohol and apple cider are by no means a new ‘brew’ to the region…
In fact, Cider has been brewed in the Valleys since long before the Okanagan became famous for it’s fine wines. At a summer’s end, the excess fruit needs to be put to use.
What better way to enjoy it all than… Cider!
In recent years, many modern cider breweries, cider houses and crafty cider companies have emerged throughout the Okanagan and Similkameen. These cider breweries and companies are crafting some awesome organic ciders and many operating in similar fashion to that of the original cider brewers of the Valley!
Follow along as I taste my way around the organic hard ciders of the Valley and share my adventure here, with you!
